Jessica Jacobsen (She/Her)

Jessica joined Birthways in 2021 as a Postpartum Doula. Drawn to the work of supporting families, she is excited to help meet the specific needs of newborns, siblings, new parents, and the home during this transformative time.

Jessica supported families for many years as a nanny. She has cared for newborns and toddlers, premature infants, and infants with special needs. She also worked as an Assistant Teacher with Infants at a Montessori school and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Intercultural Studies.

Whether it is “emotional support, physical support, cleaning help, an ear to listen, someone there just to be a presence in the house with them,” Jessica’s calling is to support this full experience of parenthood and discover your parenting style and needs. Jessica can also offer support with nursing, pumping or bottle-feeding, and knows when additional lactation support may be of benefit.

Practicalities of laundry, dishes, a nourishing meal, taking the dog for a walk, or emptying the trash, are just some of the household tasks Jessica is happy to do so that your home can feel comfortable, safe, and calm.

In her own words

“My dream is to be a postpartum doula! I’ve been a nanny to babies and toddlers for the past 7 years and just had my own baby last November [2020]. I truly understand the support women need postpartum and would love to be that for moms! I anticipate all moms have varying needs and desires—the best is to listen.”
