Mary Neubeck (She/Her)
Mary Neubeck joined Birthways in 2021 as a Postpartum Doula. She is really looking forward to being able to focus on the emotional needs of new parents and new families as a doula, tending to these aspects of the postpartum time that the medical side of care does not fully address.
Mary has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and has over 7 years in the medical field as a Registered Nurse. She has worked in behavioral health with adult, adolescent, and pediatric clients, as well as working in cannabis medicine. Since becoming a mother herself, she has been drawn to postpartum doula work.
Offering emotional, physical, and practical support as a postpartum doula, Mary will be tending to the needs of the newborn, the parents, and the home. She is particularly passionate about being a non-judgmental, compassionate presence that can help a new family find their own way through this time.
Mary’s commitment to providing holistic support extends from beginnings/postpartum to end-of-life care, as she is also working on training and certification as a Death Doula. Being in this supportive, compassionate role, where she can develop relationships, build community, and help prioritize what is most important is where she feels called to serve.
In her own words
“As a nurse, I thought I knew what to expect becoming a parent and having a newborn. I quickly learned that there was quite a bit of knowledge needed that could not come from textbooks. I feel fortunate to have a wonderful tribe of mothers around me to teach and guide me, and I hope I can be part of another parent’s journey!”
