Trini Hertz (She/Her)

Trini joined Birthways in early 2021 as part of our Labor Support and Postpartum Teams. Trini is a warm and generous person, with a deep love of supporting families.

As Trini deepens her skills and knowledge through formal training, she also has incredible hands-on experiences with families. As a volunteer with Chicago Volunteer Doulas, she has experience with local Chicago hospitals in supporting the specific and unique needs of birthing people with their birth preferences, decision-making, comfort measures, and communication with medical teams. Trini really listens and observes to offer suggestions or ideas, honoring each person’s journey. She is a wonderful resource for information, hands-on comfort measures, partner support, and is a calm and nurturing presence.

As a postpartum doula, Trini brings a commitment to supporting all aspects of this time: tending to the baby’s needs, supporting the postpartum recovery and parent transitions, and household comforts. Trini loves to cook, take care of laundry, or tidy up. She iss also an excellent resource for breastfeeding/chestfeeding parents as well as those navigating pumping or bottle feeding.

Gentle, receptive, loving-heart, compassionate, understanding – these are just some of the many ways her past clients describe Trini’s care and support.

Originally from Chile, Trini is a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English, and also speaks basic French. She loves to bring her photography skills into the birth and postpartum time and will be happy to snap photos with your family. She comes to doula work after successful careers in hospitality, real estate, and fashion/business management.

Trini is a warm, thoughtful, and open-hearted person. We know you’ll love meeting her!

What Clients Say

“Trini felt like an extension of my brain. She helped me do the research on things that worried mr or things I was curious about. It was also important for me that my husband felt the positive energy with Trini and they hit it off great which was key the day of my labor. It was a 30-hour labor with lots of things going on, and without Trini I am sure I would have had a different outcome. During my labor, she asked all the questions I would have asked if I wasn’t so sleepy! And she truly was the leader of the team.”

“[Trini], I want you to know how crucial your presence was. I don’t believe in coincidences; I strongly  believe that people come into your life to serve a great purpose and it truly felt as if it were written in the stars that you would be part of my support team.”
