Gabrielle Menzies
Gabi has a vast background, preparing her as a doula!! She holds a degree
in Psychology with an emphasis in Women’s and Gender Studies, cared for
children from newborns to 12-years-old, including twins and children with
disabilities, and has worked as a daycare teacher, au pair, and nanny. She is
also a proud aunt to two nieces, who have given her the privilege of witness-
ing firsthand the learning moments and growth of the postpartum period and
early childhood. Working at an OB/GYN office opened up a new dimension of
caregiving for Gabi and helped her see that all of her past experiences work-
ing with children had led her to this moment—the realization that being a
doula is the path she is meant to follow.
Growing up in a big family, Gabi understands the importance of a strong sup-
port system (and she is no stranger to a little controlled chaos!). Her mother,
a teacher, instilled in her not only the importance of children and the impact
they have on the world, but also the value of supporting the people raising
them. Gabi believes adults deserve to feel nurtured just as much as their
children do, and she carries that value into every family she works with.
Gabi’s intention is to support families through one of the most transformative
experiences of their lives. With a background in psychology, she understands
how important mental health is. She strives to remind parents and families
that their feelings matter, to help elevate their day-to-day experience, and to
provide a calm, reassuring presence that allows them to feel supported,
seen, and empowered. Ultimately, she wants this work to ripple out, helping
parents feel confident and cared for, babies feel secure and loved, and com-
munities feel more connected, compassionate, and supported.
In their own words:
“I doula because I believe every child, every parent, and every family de-
serves to feel seen, nurtured, and valued. As your doula, I step into that cir-
cle- offering steady encouragement, compassion, and guidance so you feel
confident and held throughout your journey.”
What clients say:
“Gabi is great with older siblings and practical house work. She is willing to do
whatever is needed and can figure out what needs to happen.” -Alissa H..
“Gabi is a co-regulator and supports me as a mom. She does not get worked
up, does not show her stress and can support complexity without
judgement. ” -Jacki J
