Emylee Shultz

Emylee (she/her) joined Birthways as a Labor Support and Postpartum doula. After knowing since she was a child that she wanted to work with families and babies, her passion for this type of service was truly awoken during her first pregnancy and postpartum experience. When her first baby was 9 months old, Emylee began supporting families as a Newborn Care Specialist. She built a lot of relationships with different families over that 2 year time frame. During the pandemic, she took a break from newborn care as she worked toward her BSN which she is still pursuing virtually. Throughout school, she has continued to help local families.

Emylee has always had a love for a holistic approach to care for herself and for others. She knows she cannot “pour from an empty cup” so she fills her own cup by exercising regularly, cooking nourishing meals for her family, and self-care whether it be a scheduled massage or drinking a cup of hot coffee in the early hours of the morning.

Her main intention is to support families during this transitional phase in their lives. She wants to help lay the foundation for postpartum and lead to better outcomes for the entire family unit.

I doula because I believe in a new normal for postpartum families that include support, resources, and rest.

Testimonials

“As first time parents we were nervous to leave our baby initially. Right way Emylee was great with communication, reliability, giving very good care for our baby, sharing pointers and making recommendation in a soft collaborative way, never overbearing. Her approach is spot on as she provided coaching and guidance, evidence based information and the care we needed.” -Greg B.

“Emylee was someone I could talk to during my pregnancy as she is also a parent. Emylee supported w daycare pickup, information and care on my motherhood journey. She is very genuine, a great communicator, on top of everything, and a helpful, nurturing presence.” -Anisa F.
