Susan Martinez

Susan (she/her) joined Birthways as a postpartum doula, as she recently moved to the Chicago area from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is the mother of one amazing grown daughter who was conceived via in-vitro the first try, so she is her good luck charm. Susan loves her family and working with other moms and babies. She has worked with postpartum moms for over three years, forming special bonds with all of them! Before working with moms and babies, Susan was in sales, recruiting medical professionals for temporary assignments throughout the country.

Susan grew up in Michigan and has traveled all over the country and beyond. Susan enjoys family, cooking, coffee, friends, golf, jigsaw puzzles, working out and her yorkie named Sophie.

Family was a great starter for her but she wanted to give more to moms and babies. After having her daughter with no grandparents or other help, she found her village among other mothers which inspired her to give back. Susan wants to see all mothers and families have the help she wishes she had. She wants to be able to help moms be kinder to themselves which in turn helps their families.
